Optimizing Task Assignment with Custom LWC

The client faced a common but significant problem: they were creating numerous Task records in Salesforce that needed to be assigned to employees, but their current process was super tedious. We’re talking painful manual filtering, clicking through records one by one, and making assignment decisions without clear visibility into workload distribution.

To streamline task management in Salesforce by providing employees and managers with an intuitive, automated solution that simplifies task assignment, improves workload visibility, and increases operational efficiency.

We built a custom Lightning Web Component (LWC) to take the headache out of this whole process.

The new component enables you to:

• Filter tasks by several fields (status, priority, due date, etc.)

• Sort tasks however you want (oldest first, highest priority, etc.)

• Select and reassign multiple tasks in one go - bulk actions

• Estimate time per user - see how long it’ll take for each person to finish their assigned tasks, based on task type or estimated durations

Basically, we gave them a control panel for managing their tasks. Now, instead of slogging through each task one at a time, they can filter what they need, hit reassign, and it’s done.

What used to be a slow, frustrating process now takes just a few clicks. Plus, managers can actually see how much work each employee has on their plate, so they can balance the load and avoid overworking anyone.
