June 18, 2020

Dear Community Members,

It is hard to accept that this is the reality of America today. I am truly disgusted that it is the year 2020 and amidst all the progress made, we are still dealing with deeply rooted, systemic racism.

I wish I could say I did more when I heard that my friend Joe gets regularly pulled over, or when I saw him teach his two boys about what or what not to do when approached by cops. The truth is I didn’t know what to do other than vote based on politicians’ track records. Before I go vote, I ask Joe to vet my vote, but that’s about it.

This changes immediately. As a company, we believe Black Lives Matter. As a leader, I am committed to listening, learning and taking action to support my community.

ECHO is committing to the following:

      • Starting this year, we will recognize Juneteenth as a paid company holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. It should be a holiday celebrated for and by all Americans.

      • By the end of 2020, we will donate $7,500 to Black-owned organizations or organizations supporting BIPOC communities in the United States.

      • By the end of 2020, we will donate 600 hours of managed IT and Salesforce consulting services to Black-owned organizations or organizations supporting BIPOC communities in the United States.

This is just a start, and there’s more to come. We will be adding information to ECHO’s website on our community engagement efforts in the US and abroad in the coming weeks. You can always stay in the loop by following us on social media or subscribing to our newsletter.

It is all our responsibility to call out systemic racism, injustice and inequality in our community. Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Sejo Jahic
